Michael Choi, DDS

Meet Dr. Choi
Dr. Michael Choi received his doctor's degree from Seoul, South Korea in 1986. After serving his country as a military doctor, Dr. Choi entered the advanced implant preceptorship program at UCLA. He researched dental implant interfaces and mechanics, and his findings were later published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants (JOMI).
Dr. Choi has been interested in occlusion and TMD since he graduated from dental school. This continuous interest in occlusion and his participation in a TMJ study group led him to continue his education in prosthodontics.
In 1994, Dr. Choi entered the advanced prosthodontic program at Loma Linda University and gained his certificate in prosthodontics. He then entered the three-year advanced implant dentistry program and in 1996, he graduated with a certificate in implant dentistry. After serving a year as an assistant professor at Loma Linda, he took a job as an implant specialist at the Arizona Implant Institute, where he focused on full-mouth reconstruction and cosmetic dentistry. He then started his private practice, and he has given many lectures and taught numerous courses about dental implants and cosmetics.

Dr. Choi has been married to his loving wife, Leslie, for 21 years. They have a 20-year-old son, John, who is a full-time college student, and a 17-year-old daughter, Isis, who is a superb swimmer set to qualify for the Junior Olympics. His family has lived in Irvine for three years now. When out of the office, Dr. Choi enjoys golf and hot yoga, and is also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
